Pricing a Whole House Fan System from CHC

AIRFLOW: Our goal is to install a fan system that provides at least 3 cfm (cubic feet per minute) for every square foot above ground in your home. With this amount of airflow, a whole house fan can serve as your primary home cooling system.

VENTILATION: The ventilation in the attic needs to match the amount of airflow provided by the fan. We recommend a minimum of 1 square foot (144 sq. in.) of net free airflow of (sfnf) ventilation for every 1000 cfm of air moved by the fan. Most homes have about 2 sfnf, so additional venting is usually required to complete the installation of a whole house fan system. CHC installs the finest roof vents available, and each vent provides 1 sfnf airflow.

Which system is right for your home? Contact us to discuss the size and configuration of your home and your cooling needs. Then we can schedule one appointment in which our install teams (the best and most experienced in Colorado!) can both confirm this estimate and install the fan system of your choice. We will provide the best options for your home at a fair and honest price. We have other fan options to meet your specific needs - please call with your questions! At CHC, we pride ourselves on creating the best cooling solution for your unique home.

Please note: This pricing assumes a home with 8' ceilings. With high and vaulted ceilings, we recommend a fan with more than 3cfm/sf (as there is a greater volume of air in the home). These prices include all framing, drywall, switch, timer, and electrical work required to complete the fan installation. As the amount of additional ventilation to complete the fan system differs for each house, the prices to add attic ventilation are not included in the above pricing. Please call for a complete estimate. Our knowledgeable office staff can ask the proper questions to get you an exact, or very close estimate over the phone.

Please note:
Roof Vents (each vent we install provides 1 sq foot of net free airflow) are $95 installed in a shallow-pitch asphalt roof.
We have additional charges for installing vents on steep roofs (8:12 pitch and greater).
We can install Soffit Vents and Vertical Exhaust Shutters to provide ventilation for homes with metal or tile roofs.
We have additional charges for plaster walls, lead paint containment, high and sloped ceilings, and vertical installations.
All known charges will be part of your initial telephone estimate - we are up front about the entire job cost.
Your final estimate will be given on-site prior to the start of work.
